2013 In Two Words

I’m not sure it’s possible to make it through Christmas and the start of January without a touch of nostalgia, reflection, and wow-where-did-the-year-go-isms. I try to avoid writing cliché posts, and on New Year’s Eve that would mean not writing about the past year or new year’s resolutions. Sorry, but I have to give myself a bit of slack on this one. Clichés aren’t ALL bad, I suppose, and transitions are a natural and healthy time to reflect on what has passed so you can learn and better shape what’s to come. However, I don’t feel like going on and on about the highs and lows of the last year so I’ll skip the fluff and sum up my 2013 in two words: Unexpected & Enlightening

It’s been a wild ride, and I am incredibly blessed to be where and who I am today. I am eternally grateful to those who have been my steadfast support throughout these past months. Wild rides can be scary sometimes, “unexpected” brings good surprises and bad, and “enlightening” usually means learning how much you still have to learn, which can also be scary. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Here’s to 2014! Onward and upward!

Always,

Alissa Jean
